US equities pull back at opening, S&P held over 1700

FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market opened the trading week in the red Monday, following a week of robust gains, an FOMC update, and checkered US data.

Beginning with the indices and composites, today the NASDAQ fell -0.14% as it settles in region of 3684.94, down -5.32 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in negative territory, operating at 1704.74, descending -4.91 points or -0.29% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved lower at the opening, trading in the zone of 15607.73, presently -0.23% after a movement of -50.63 points.

Sectors are all lower at the opening, however the Financials and Telecoms sectors have distinguished themselves as the losers thus far, falling -0.34% and -0.32% respectively. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1309.44 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $19.74 per oz. Monday.
