Germany’s Schauble: Germany, France have responsibility for strengthening Eurozone

The German finance minister Wolfgang Schauble is out on the wires now, via Reuters speaking alongside the French finance minister Bruno Le Maire in Berlin.

Schauble:

Both convinced Germany and France have special leadership role in strengthening euro zone

Agreed with French fin min to set up working group on strengthening euro zone

Working group to come up with ideas by July

 Le Maire:

Convinced will work well with Schaeuble to the benefit of France, Germany and Europe

Decided with Schaeuble today to give new impulse to euro zone

We will look at coordinating economic policy & initiatives for investment

France will respect its deficit reduction commitments

Euro area will find solutions on Greek debt
