Fed’s Kashkari: Presidents can talk, but Fed won't listen – Reuters
On early Thursday, Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari appeared at the town hall held in North Dakota. Reuters reported Kashkari safeguarding the Fed’s outlook against the President Donald Trump’s push.
The report conveys that the FOMC member said that Federal Reserve policymakers pay attention to economic data, not politics or the desires of politicians, when they make decisions on interest rates.
“Presidents are free to say what they want, I can tell you with great confidence that my colleagues and I don’t pay any attention.” Fed’s Kashkari was quoted saying by the report.
