US stocks extend weekly losses after NFP
FXStreet (Córdoba) - Wall street was falling on Friday, while European markets finished sharply lower. Among country indexes, the UK FTSE 100 slipped 0.76% while the Germany's Dax 30 tumbled 2.10%. The France’s Cac 40 lost 1.02%. Italy’s FTSE MIB declined 1.02%. In Wall Street the Dow Jones was down 0.56%, the Nasdaq 0.80% and the S&P 500 0.50%.
According to the NFP the US economy added 209.000 jobs in July below expectations. After the report the US dollar plummeted across the board. The ISM manufacturing index rose to the highest levels since April 2011 and helped Greenback stabilized.
Gold soared after the NFP and was up more than 1%, slightly below $1,300/oz while crude oil was falling again, with the barrel below $97.50.
